“Can you send over a few times and dates that work for you?”
To your clients, this question is irksome. It’s kind of like asking them to throw darts while blindfolded. They can’t see the target (aka your calendar), and most of the darts are going to miss entirely.
Each time you put clients through this process, you’re creating unnecessary friction with them. Why make it so difficult to do business with you?
Why I Love the YouCanBook.Me App
Luckily, I recently came across a nifty tool that solves this problem. It’s the YouCanBook.Me scheduling software, and it’s awesome. Within minutes, you can get a customized, shareable calendar link that looks something like this:
Instead of having your clients blindly throwing darts at your invisible calendar, they can now select a time that works for them. Simply have clients click on a green slot, follow the prompts, and, in seconds, a new invitation appears on your own calendar.
For me, this is a game changer.
Even better, this tool is super-easy to configure. It took me five to ten minutes. Here’s how to set it up.

It’s important to note that the YouCanBook.Me app is available in both free and paid versions. Paid users get more features, more calendars, and the removal of the “powered for free” branding. I’ve started out on the free plan, and it seems to be working very well. I may upgrade in the future, but right now I’m a happy camper.
Free users will also appreciate the fact that no credit card is required during sign up.
Step 2: Configure & Define Your Calendar Settings
The YouCanBook.Me set up wizard walks you through the entire process. As you’ll quickly learn, even the free plan is packed full of features (see tabs below). Personally, the following settings seem most relevant to consultants like me.
Linking your calendar: Configuration is a breeze, and it works with most major calendar systems. You also get to choose a custom URL, which can contain the name of you or your company.(Confidential information was blurred).
Defining your office hours: The software allows you to customize the window within which customers can schedule appointments. Sweet!
Selecting the right calendar template: I prefer the option which displays available time as “green.” There are other nice templates too, but I think I picked the best one for my business needs.
As you can see from the screenshots, there are many other tabs that you can customize. The steps I’ve shown in this post will simply help you get started.
Step 3: Share Your Personalized Link
Once you’ve configured your preferred settings, look for the “dashboard” link in the main menu. Click that link to be taken back to your main page.
Once on the dashboard, you’ll be able to grab the shareable (or embeddable) calendar link.
Copy, paste, and go.
Step 4: Stop Annoying Your Customers!
